Triplets' first haircut at a real salon

For those who don’t know, Jason and I cut his hair as well as all the boys’ hair here at home. We bought a real set of clippers and decided to save some money by doing this on our own. The one thing we both agree on is that twice a year, the boys will have a professional cut to get some of the shape and style back and then we maintain. (Gotta save at least a little money this way, right?) So the triplets were due for their first ‘real’ haircut so I set out on a search to find the right place to cut the boys’ hair and the day when I could save the most. With their upcoming birthday, Jason and I agreed this might be a good time to have a professional cut.

Chase missed out on this round because he had gone with Jason over the weekend to get his cut because the kids’ place was booked. I made an appointment on Monday for the triplets because there was a coupon – buy one, get one half off – what a deal!

My mom agreed to go with me because I honestly didn’t know what to expect. The boys had let me cut their hair but that was in our own house, sitting on the bathroom counter where they got to play with things like Mommy’s toothbrush and comb. This was in public, with a stranger…..off we went

I packed the diaper bag like I was headed to war – snacks, treats, juice and bonus weapons, I mean items, in case I was desperate. Our appointment was at 5:00 pm….this is how it went.

All 3 boys were done, I had paid the bill and we were back in the car by 5:20 pm! Yes, 20 minutes, 3 haircuts, no meltdowns and the same stylist cut all 3 boys’ hair! They were rock stars. It helps that this place was MADE FOR KIDS! Look at these pictures and you can see what I mean.

Anthony was the first to go - LOVE the little car they sit in

He looks angry but I promise, it wasn't that bad!

Graham on the other hand grabbed the wheel and watched Elmo like he does this all the time

Still driving

We let Jack go last because he needs to watch what is going to happen and have time to process. He figured the wheel was a good place to start

He is the only one with a pacifier because he is the only one who still wants one and in this case, paci can go public. Normally it is only for when he is in bed

We will definitely be going back there again, even though the total cost, with the tip and coupon, almost sent me into shock. However, the boys did great and look like little men and not babies. Guess it is really time to admit they are toddlers!
