After a 30 minute process to get everyone in their gear, it was time to brave the snow.
We decided to try our luck sledding on a big hill in the neighborhood. While it was fun, the disks we had were very hard for all the kids to sit on and still sled so Mommy and Daddy did most of the grunt work (and by grunt work, I mean abdominal crunches/V-sits with additional weight!). The boys did great and walked up the hill on their own. But after about 30 minutes, they wanted to go 'play'. We came back home and set them free in the backyard. This is what they decided to do....(hopefully the videos will work, I normally don't link them!)
After about an hour, the boys had enough and we came in to warm up and have some lunch. After lunch, we bundled up for round 2 (just the boys and I since Daddy had to work) and off we went to play. Chase and I shoveled off the driveway while the little boys threw snowballs at the fence.
The next morning the roads around us were better so we went to the YMCA to play and avoided the snow. It had melted so there wasn't much fun to be had until later in the day when the driveway started to melt and Chase and I went back to shoveling again.
By Friday the roads around us were clear but the county still closed the public schools. Good thing for us, Chase was only on a 2 hour delay so we went to the YMCA together and then got Chase to school. I think we were all ready for school to start this morning!
