Today was the first day of my summer break and Chase's first day without daycare. Our day went a little like this:
Chase woke up around 8:30AM. Had some french toast sticks at the table and then again in the car on the way to the YMCA. Chase went to the nursery while I went to a class. We came home to let me change clothes and then meet Jason and Popi for lunch. (Popi was in town for a few hours while Meme had a meeting for work). Then Popi came back to the house to play which means Chase wanted nothing to do with his nap. Popi left and Grandma stopped by for a little while (still no nap). Chase and I played outside (yes, it was over 90 degrees here today and felt like a sauna but at this point I had made the decision to keep him awake for an early bedtime. Jason got home around 6:30 PM and we all had dinner. Chase took a bath, watched his standard 'Elmo and was in bed by 8:00 PM. It was later that I would have expected and wanted but it was an hour earlier than normal for him. I am hoping that this means that he will sleep all night and have some kind of a normal routine tomorrow. Then again, look how today went!

March Madness
I can't believe how quickly time has gone by. The weather is finally starting to warm up (we actually got the boat ready for some lake time but never made it last weekend) and Chase is busier than ever. Where to start.....
Chase has started taking swim lessons at the YMCA. He LOVES the water and is doing really well. Not a big fan of laying on his back and getting water in his ears, but the rest of it is great. He sings "Row, row, row your boat" on a daily basis to practice his arm strokes (out of the water). He then practices blowing bubbles and kicking in the bathtub.
Jason and I took a child-free trip to Turks & Caicos at the end of February and my mom watched Chase for us. It was nice to get away but I do miss him when I am gone for a couple of days. He getting into everything - stairs, remote controls, dog crates, drawers, cabinets, closets. He wants to wear our shoes and hats....he has a fascination with wearing Jason's baseball caps and looks adorable when he does.
We have been staying local for the most part. It seems like the time change has gotten the best of all of us and we have all been sick over the last few weeks. I think we have kicked it for now and I am looking forward to Spring Break for some serious down time. I am losing the first day to a snow day make up but will still have one week off.
We are planning a visit to see the Easter Bunny and I honestly can't say how it will go. There are times when characters don't bother him and others where he has a complete meltdown. Could be very interesting!
On a parental pride note, Chase peed in the potty by request (his) yesterday. I am not crazy enough to believe this is the beginning of potty training but it was still very exciting to have him ask while I was changing his diaper and then actually go!

Valentine Snow
Here are some pictures from our Valentine snow here in Raleigh. This was the perfect snow for making snowmen so Chase helped Jason (kinda) and then we watched the rest of the magic happen from the warmth of the house!

February Snow (2 or 3 inches)
Nana came in town to visit for the weekend and brought a little more winter weather with her. We got about 2 1/2 or 3 inches of good wet snow over night, so we headed out in the morning to build a snowman. Rolling the snowball around the front yard, it literally picked up all the snow in its path! We ended up building three snow people (a little snow family). Snow in Raleigh
Well, we have more snow this year and I am actually here with Chase to enjoy it. We bundled him up in Bise's old snow suit and braved the weather. He didn't really mind the cold but didn't like the snow boots. Here are some pictures of our wonderland.
